Tree Planting In Orchard Village

Care was taken to dig large enough holes to allow for root growth, and to use a small amount of compost, but not too much - so as to simulate the natural sandy conditions found on the Cape Flats.

It was great to have community involvement, including a group of youngsters who had fun helping us dig holes, plant and water the trees, hopefully fostering their appreciation of environmental matters for years ahead.

We look forward to watching the trees grow and adding to the aesthetic of the village entrance, as well as contributing to the river and surrounding ecosystem.
